To get started, you will need your active real estate license with the State of Michigan to show a Broker who is a Member of GKAR. Then select the application link below to submit your application to Support@gkar.com”. *Important: If you have an existing dotloop account, you must log out before opening the application.

Along with your active license and completed application, payment for your prorated Local Membership Dues and a $500 application fee is required. Dues amounts are listed below. GKAR will confirm that your National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) and Michigan REALTORS® (MR) Dues were paid prior to your transfer. If you are a current REALTOR® Member from an Association within the Michigan Regional Information Center (MichRIC) transferring to GKAR, you are exempt from the application fee.

After payment is received, you will receive notification and instructions to complete virtual orientation requirements. If you have any questions regarding orientation requirements, please email Support@gkar.com.
After completion of all new member requirements, your application will be reviewed for approval by our Board of Directors at the next monthly meeting.
Your Membership will be announced in the Bearings (our monthly GKAR Newsletter)! You can now take advantage of your GKAR Member Benefits and voting privileges.
GKAR invoices Brokers on the 1st of each month for Monthly User Fees of $45 per REALTOR® Member. This is all-inclusive for all MLS services and Member Benefits.
Would our saved MLS searches be eliminated with a transfer?
Yes, all saved searches and clients, and their respective subscriptions and portals, will be closed with your prior Association MLS profile. Users have the capability to export and import contacts from Flexmls and searches and subscriptions will need to manually be added to the GKAR MLS profile, by the user. It is always recommended that a user make notes of the search criteria for each contact before they officially close their membership with their current association.
How will I obtain lockboxes for my listings?
GKAR MLS Rules and Regulations provides an allotment of SentriLock lockboxes for each office as a Member benefit. The Broker (or authorized manager) may work with the Director of MLS to determine the number of boxes available to the office.
The MLS Department requires advance notice for all lockbox requests. Please allow at least one to two business days for processing.
Note: Application approval by our Board of Directors is required before an allotment may be provided to a new office/broker.
What are the requirements to serve on GKAR Committees?
GKAR opens the Committee Application on November 1st, and it closes on December 5th. REALTORS® in good standing are eligible to serve on all GKAR Committees. Applications are reviewed and appointments selected by the Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson and Director Liaison for each committee. Although joining during the year may not be an option, often new Members are welcomed as guests to a committee meeting with advance notice. Regardless of committee participation, all GKAR Members are welcome to participate in our Day of Service for Veterans in November.
