In the interest of fostering positive working relationships with local and State legislators, several GKAR Members headed to the State Capitol on Wednesday, May 25th, 2016.
Fourteen Members of the Greater Kalamazoo Association of REALTORS® (GKAR) sat in on legislative panel discussions and met with Michigan legislators: Senator Margaret O'Brien, Senator Tonya Schuitmaker, Representative Jon Hoadley, Representative Brandt Iden, Representative David Maturen, and Representative Aric Nesbitt.
They also received a public policy update from Michigan REALTORS® Public Policy & Legal Affairs Director, Brian Westrin and Michigan REALTORS® West Michigan Director, Doug Merriam.
GKAR encourages Member participation in legislative matters and is proud to have an active Governmental Affairs Committee focused on being knowledgeable on local issues and their effects on the real estate community.
