More than 100 GKAR Members attended the 2018 Walk to End Homelessness, an annual fundraiser put on by Kalamazoo's Housing Resources, Inc.

This year, REALTORS^® from Kalamazoo will join REALTORS^® across the country to embark on a yearlong commemoration of the 50^th Anniversary of the Fair Housing Act to raise awareness for fair housing issues.

“The REALTOR^® Community loves to participate in Bowl for Kids’ Sake as it is such a great event, a fun time to hang out with friends, and we are helping children in our community by supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters,” says Angie Forward, GKAR Business Partner and Co-Chair for GKAR's partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters.

“The GKAR REALTOR^® Family is dedicated to serving not only the real estate industry, but also the greater Kalamazoo community,” said Robin Pompey, Chief Executive Officer of GKAR. “Each year our Association selects 4-6 community organizations to partner with and our Community Relations Committee coordinates our efforts."

The Greater Kalamazoo Association of REALTORS^® (GKAR) hosted their annual Installation & State of the Association holiday luncheon on Friday, December 1^st, 2017, to honor and recognize their leaders in the greater Kalamazoo real estate community, and to thank their membership for their support and involvement throughout the year. 

The Greater Kalamazoo Association of REALTORS^® (GKAR)^® is hosting their third annual Day of Service for Veterans on Saturday, October 21^st, 2017 to honor our local service members. GKAR appreciates the service our veterans provide to our country and we want to show our appreciation with a little home maintenance.

Despite the availability of Internet listings and virtual tours, a whopping 92% of buyers still find open houses to be a useful part of their search. Since REALTOR^® Open House Month kicked off on April 1^st, more than 60 homes have been featured by REALTORS^® in greater Kalamazoo as part of the month-long event.

Forty-four percent of recent buyers used open houses as a way to find their dream home. Buyers in the greater Kalamazoo area will have the opportunity to do just that as REALTORS^® participate in GKAR's April REALTOR^® Open House Month event.
