3-Step Process

Our staff will walk you through the steps to getting your Real Estate License and will be a resource for Continuing Education throughout your real estate career. 

Step 1 - Education

Real Estate 101

In 2018, 89% of students completed our Real Estate 101 course!

Real Estate 101 is the Michigan Real Estate Academy's 40-hour pre-licensure course that provides prospective real estate professionals with the knowledge, statutory hours, and study materials necessary for taking the State of Michigan Real Estate Salesperson Licensing Exam. Time Commitment: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm daily over five days / lunch break 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm; please note that there is assigned pre-reading for this course, designed to help you succeed on the practice exam.

Age Requirement: You must be age 18 or older to register for Real Estate 101.

Registration Deadline: Monday prior to your course start date by 5:00 pm. Your registration is not complete until your tuition is received.

Step 2 - Application

Apply for a real estate salesperson license with the State of Michigan and submit the appropriate licensing fee. Important! You will have 36 months to submit this application after you successfully complete the pre-licensing course. During this time, you may select a supervising broker.*

Step 3 - Exam

Sit for and pass the State of Michigan Real Estate Salesperson ExamImportant! You will have 12 months to pass the licensing exam once you submit your application. During this time, you may select a supervising broker.*
