2010 is the Vine Neighborhood Associations thirtieth anniversary!

In honor of our thirtieth birthday, we are investing $30,000 in Vine. We are giving up to thirty $1,000 gifts to home buyers in Vine! If someone purchases a home in Vine within the next year, intending to live there, the Vine Neighborhood Association, in conjunction with our sister organization Vine Ventures, will give them $1,000. We will make up to thirty such grants until the end of the year. The program starting date is April 24th. We will start scheduling appointments with new home owners on that date at our Spring Open House at El Sol Elementary School.

There are many great reasons to invest in a home in the Vine right now. We have the honor of being one of top eight 2009 Best Places to Buy and Rehab an Old House, presented by This Old House. We have a Neighborhood Enterprise Zone (tax abatements), Historic Tax Credits, the Kalamazoo Promise, and more. Our streets are lined with trees and filled with charming historic homes. We have everything from low priced handy home owner project houses, to renovated, move in ready homes with character and warmth.

To help make twenty ten the greatest year ever, the Vine is also investing another thirty thousand dollars in new arts programs, social events, and a huge web site upgrade. We want twenty ten to be one long party, celebrating our storied history, and our plans for the future. We are investing a total of sixty thousand dollars in our neighborhood this year. We believe in the Vine Neighborhood and are putting our money where our dreams are.

Our new web site will be up soon. Be on the lookout for the announcement!
