Woman Accused in Florida Not a REALTOR®

July 20, 2009

The following is a statement by the National Association of REALTORS®:

Many news outlets are erroneously reporting that Pamela Long Wiggins, charged today for murder in Florida, is a REALTOR®.

The National Association of REALTORS® can confirm that she is not a REALTORS®, which is a protected trademark of the National Association of REALTORS®, and is not synonymous with "real estate agent."

It is unknown whether Wiggins holds a Florida real estate license.

The National Association of REALTORS®, "The Voice for Real Estate," is America's largest trade association, representing 1.2 million member REALTORS® involved in all aspects of the residential and commercial real estate industries.
